Home Screen app questions
Can I install ScreenCode without an app store?
Yes. ScreenCode is an installable web app. Add it from your browser and its icon will appear on your phone's Home Screen without an App Store or Google Play download.
Why is Add to Home Screen missing from ScreenCode's Share button?
ScreenCode's Share button shares a link with people and apps. Add to Home Screen is a browser action, so you must use Safari's or Chrome's own Share or More button.
Does the installed ScreenCode app still read images privately?
Yes. Adding ScreenCode to your Home Screen does not change how the reader works. QR code and barcode images are processed locally on your device and are not uploaded to ScreenCode.
How do I remove ScreenCode from my phone?
Touch and hold the ScreenCode icon on your Home Screen, then choose the option to remove, delete, or uninstall it. Your browser remains installed.
