TERMS OF SERVICE

The terms behind the tools.

ScreenCode is operated by SquarePi LLC. These terms explain your responsibilities and ours.

1. Using ScreenCode

These terms govern ScreenCode’s website, browser extensions, QR tools, Wallet card service, and purchases made through the service. When these terms take effect, using ScreenCode means accepting them. Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled.

You must be at least 13 to create an account, or older where local law requires. If you are not legally able to enter a contract, a parent or legal guardian must authorize your use. Purchases require an adult with authority to authorize payment. If you act for a business, you must have authority to bind it.

2. Guest access and accounts

Scanning, designing QR codes, and ordering stickers are available without account signup. Saving QR codes, exporting them, and creating Apple and Google Wallet business cards require a free account. Clerk provides authentication, including supported social sign-in providers.

Keep account information accurate, protect your sign-in methods, and contact us if you suspect unauthorized access. Do not share accounts to evade plan limits or create accounts for fraudulent purposes.

3. Free and Pro Wallet cards

A free account includes one editable Apple Wallet card and one editable Google Wallet card. The two designs are saved independently. You can change either card’s details or clear them and start again; issuing it again reuses that wallet’s pass identity. Pro includes unlimited card identities for your own legitimate use, subject to reasonable technical protections against abuse and disruptive automated requests.

Editing a card requires downloading and adding the updated pass. We do not promise automatic updates to previously installed passes. Clearing a card or deleting an account cannot recall downloaded copies, screenshots, printed codes, or details already shared with recipients.

After Pro access ends, your account returns to the free allowance. Creating or reissuing additional card identities requires Pro. Existing downloaded passes are not remotely erased, and their continued operation depends on Apple or Google and the receiving device.

4. Device storage and your content

You retain ownership of your content and give us only the permission needed to process it for features you request, such as Wallet signing and sticker production. You must have permission to use contact details, photographs, logos, trademarks, and other material you provide.

Saved QR designs and Wallet card content remain on the device where you save them unless you turn on optional cloud sync in Account. With sync on, we store that content to make it available in other browsers signed into the same account. Signing up alone does not enable sync. Browser storage can be lost when you clear data, use private browsing, change devices, or uninstall software. Sync requires connectivity and may require you to resolve conflicting edits. Turning it off deletes active cloud content but does not erase copies on other devices; restricted backups may persist under provider retention schedules. Cloud sync is not an archival or version-history guarantee. Account, billing, order, and pass-identity records are handled separately as explained in the Privacy Policy.

5. Subscriptions and payment

Pro is a monthly subscription processed through Stripe. The price, currency, taxes, renewal interval, and included features are shown before you confirm payment. A subscription renews automatically until canceled. You authorize the recurring charges disclosed at checkout.

You can cancel through the billing controls linked from your account, or contact us if those controls are unavailable. Cancellation stops future renewals; paid access ordinarily continues to the end of the current billing period. Any trial, refund, or promotional conditions will be disclosed before purchase. Applicable cancellation, refund, and consumer rights are not limited by these terms. Material price changes will be communicated before a renewal at the new price so you can cancel.

6. Custom stickers

Stripe processes payment, and Sticker it and delivery providers help produce and deliver orders. Before ordering, review the QR content, artwork, dimensions, material, quantity, shipping address, and total price. Test the QR at its intended printed size. A successful on-screen scan does not guarantee every printed size, surface, lighting condition, or reader will work.

Production and delivery estimates are not guarantees. Custom artwork may become impossible to change or cancel once production begins. Any applicable return and cancellation conditions will appear before payment. Contact us about damaged, defective, incorrect, or missing orders so we can investigate and arrange an appropriate remedy. Statutory consumer rights still apply.

7. Acceptable use

Do not use ScreenCode for phishing, malware, fraud, impersonation, unlawful surveillance, infringement, or sharing information without the necessary rights. Do not bypass authentication or payment restrictions, interfere with the service, or abuse signing and order endpoints. Automated activity that disrupts other users may be restricted.

8. External services and QR destinations

A QR code can point to harmful, incorrect, expired, or changed content. Review results before opening links, adding contacts, connecting to Wi-Fi, approving authentication, or making payments. ScreenCode does not guarantee that decoded content or destinations are safe or accurate.

Apple Wallet, Google Wallet, social sign-in, app stores, payment processors, and other external services have their own requirements and terms. Availability can depend on their systems, supported devices, and internet connectivity. App-store terms may also apply to extension downloads.

9. Availability and limitations

We work to keep ScreenCode useful and reliable, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability, universal decoding accuracy, or recovery of locally stored content. To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided as available without implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

To the extent permitted by law, SquarePi LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, or loss of locally stored data. Nothing here excludes liability or consumer protections that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud or willful misconduct.

10. Suspension, deletion, and changes

You may stop using the service and request account deletion through your account controls or contact us. Deleting an account does not erase copies saved on your devices or supplied to other people. Cancel any active subscription before deletion or ask us to assist with both.

We may restrict access when reasonably necessary to address unlawful use, abuse, security threats, or material violations of these terms. Where practical, we will explain the reason and provide a way to contact us. We will give appropriate notice of material changes affecting paid services and honor applicable refund rights.

We may update these terms. Material changes will be communicated before taking effect where required, and a dated version will be available here.

11. Law and contact

These terms are governed by North Carolina law, except where mandatory laws applicable to you require otherwise. They do not remove your right to bring a claim in a court or forum available under applicable consumer law.
